Central Indiana Agrofood Supply Chain Analysis (Purdue University)

Lafayette, IN

Explorer Solutions services were retained to undertake a regional agro-food sector supply analysis within the six (6) counties comprising North Central Indiana. By better understanding regional supply chain activity and where local-area agribusinesses were procuring their primary inputs and selling their end-products, the study objective was to determine leakage taking place and to identify opportunities to either source inputs locally or attract suppliers to fill the gaps. In cases where key inputs could not be sourced locally, demonstration of a sufficient demand was aggregated and presented as the basis for a series of investment attraction opportunities to be further pursued by the client and the corresponding county offices of economic development.
