A seasoned senior executive and business owner with P & L responsibilities, Normand Landry is a team leader and a team builder with 30 years’ experience in aviation, aerospace and manufacturing. He has extensive experience in the management of aerospace projects and programs, planning, business development, risk management, financial arrangements, economic development and government relations.
Normand is a military veteran with 28 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). He began his career as a Director of Maintenance and retired from the military as the Director General of the National Defense Aerospace Flight Test Center Senior Technical Engineer. He has successfully led and managed more than 50 multinational tests and test programs over the course of his career. He has extensive expertise in aerospace testing, flight testing, project management and maintenance. As a civilian, he has demonstrated his business acumen as the Director of Engineering and Director Business Development for Aviatech Technical Services and now as the VP North America for Explorer Solutions.
An engineer by trade, Normand is passionate about innovation not only at the product level but also in companies’ business processes. He understand well the challenges facing industry and the need to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies in manufacturing. Competitive in nature, he is strongly stimulated in a results-driven environment where growth is essential. Normand holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ont. and a Masters degree in Aeronautics from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom.
Normand has extensive experience in managing major aeronautical programs both nationally and internationally. His experience includes managing technical, R & D and the management of joint programs with military and civilian organizations in the United States, Australia, Finland, and Switzerland.
