Explorer Solutions was retained to develop a Manufacturing Sector Analysis based on a thorough primary and secondary research and analysis of the sector in the Barrie area. The strategy serves as a roadmap to assist Barrie manufacturers in growing and becoming more competitive while also providing Invest Barrie with the information necessary to attract complementary manufacturers to the city to form distinct clusters.
The project included identifying all Barrie area manufacturers, their operations’ scope, unique clusters/hubs that exist, the products produced, and the receiving markets.
Large consultations and surveying supported identifying key opportunities and threats to addressed in the subsequent 12 months. Actionable recommendations were developed to identify ways Invest Barrie could assist existing manufacturers through business expansion and diversification opportunities while addressing identified threats and opportunities. The strategy also identified target manufacturing segments and markets for business attraction.
