Certified Site Best Land Use and Supply Chain Study

The Strathroy-Caradoc Economic Development Department retained Explorer Solutions to complete a best land use and supply-chain analysis for the Certified Site in the Molnar Industrial park adjacent to Highway 402. The land was zoned for industrial purposes, and the Municipality was interested in re-examining the economic impact of different development scenarios on the certified site as they moved towards thinking that a cluster of businesses that support the local economy may be better than waiting for a large manufacturer to show interest.

Our team completed a thorough supply chain and import-export analysis through understanding the prevailing sectors, business activities, and key assets throughout Strathroy-Caradoc. This was augmented by a multi-day industry consultation analysis that sought to understand gaps and opportunities for the area, the specific certified site, and the overall supply chain.

Three (3) development concepts were proposed for the Certified Site during the validation workshop. Upon direction from the municipality to further investigate opportunities related to developing an agri-food processing hub at the Certified Site, we identified three (3) unique opportunities. Overall our team worked closely with the Town’s Economic Development Department and completed the project on time and budget.
